They have pushed the envelope and the boundaries of power metal constantly, even if it wasn’t particularly popular. Not that there’s anything wrong with consistency, but I don’t think that’s what made DragonForce remarkable in the first place. It’s a similar issue I experienced with Reaching Into Infinity. But as a result, many if not all of these songs could be mixed into other albums and you’d never be able to tell the difference. Are the lyrics of power metal, fantasy-type lore? Yes. They are best known for their song Through the Fire and Flames from their album Inhuman Rampage, which is featured in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. They also updated their Valley of the Damned album that was released in 2003. They changed their band name to DragonForce in 2002 since there was already a band called DragonHeart. Before their official release of the Valley of the Damned (when they were known as DragonHeart), they released a demo version album of Valley of the Damned in 2000. They have released seven studio albums, two live albums and one "best hits" album, their latest studio album being Reaching into Infinity, which was released on May 19th 2017, and their last live album being In the Line of Fire, which was released on July 10th 2015. DragonForce, formerly known as DragonHeart, is a power metal band formed in London in 1999 by the two guitarists, Herman Li and Sam Totman, who were both in the metal band Demoniac.
